I'm about eighty miles from Yellowstone lake. When it goes we'll be vaporized, and you folks will be affected by the ash fallout for awhile.

You'll be dirt LONG before any ash falls out of Yellowstone.

Been there. Think R.I. could fit in the caldera. Wonder how high the mountain was before the BOOM ? For perspective, have seen the then still smoking remains of Mt St Helens, from the summit of Rainier. Yellowstone vastly would dwarf them.

Well... I'm barely in the ash ring on the one graphic at the link... undoubtedly life or living would change... but death would at least be slower coming, allowing me time to do something about it

All the money I'll save on sunscreen can go into bullets ! I don't expend a lot of respect for the science types, experts anyway. I no sooner than turned off my TV where weather folks on two different channels showed me that it may start raining some after noon, one said 2-3pm. Just got hammered by a T-strom that was in neither forecast nor on any of their expensive radars. Admittedly, this a "lake effect" issue, that we in the lee of the Great Lakes are used to. Weather folks around here get embarrassed on a regular basis.

If I was wrong as much as they are, I'd have been fired many times over. Also agree if the volcano/Caldera blows, no place in NA will get off the ride. We've been getting some seismic activity in the deep South lately too, but nothing like that. I've personally felt it only twice. Once I knew what it was, and the other my dogs confirmed it before the news did. They didn't like it.

I'm here in Yellowstone today and will tell it to not blow today! Went to see Quake Lake yesterday. I remember feeling that one in 1959 clear down in Bancroft, Idaho. Just live right and it won't matter if and when it blows. What degree of dead can you live with?

Unless the prevailing winds turn northwest after it blows, I am in a pretty good area an hour north of Seattle, on the water as well. Plus I have a boat! My daughter lives in Nanaimo on Van Is.

When it erupts this will effect the whole planet in a very bad way. Tens of millions of people perish millions sick with lung problems.
