Picked up a Dan Wesson commander size 1911 this winter. Few years of mostly fooling with long bows, I,m coming back to hand guns kinda rusty. Seeing 22lr again, and thinking a lot more trigger time with no recoil and less noise wouldn't be a terrible thing.
Looking at the Nelson and the Marvel.. Little ignorant on the 1911 platform,so this is probably a stupid question... Looking at the Nelson, just seeing a 5" option. Marvel shows the 5" and the commander size. Do I need to go with a commander specific top end, or is the full size Nelson okay? Guessing either one would work, but guessing has gotten me in trouble before...
And if either works, any preference?
Thanks!

Get it straight from the horse's mouth, call Nelson at 480-699-8040. They are very nice and extremely helpful. I have the 5" model mounted on a mildly customized Colt Delta Elite lower. It is my favorite .22 pistol. If I remember correctly, the Nelson unit was designed by Bob Marvel and has a last round slide stop and dry fire capability (neither avail on the Marvel). Here's picture of mine with suppressor. Paul

I have the full sized Unit 1 Marvel on my VBOB and it works fine. I had to put in a thinner extractor for the Marvel to work.
