I ordered a couple of molds from LBT today, as if I needed more molds. I've been wanting a heavy 45 Colt bullet and ordered a 340 grain WLN. I also thought I should see how a heavy LBT bullet would do in my 401 Powermag and ordered a 240 grain WLN. Both are four cavity molds. Now the wait. I'll post some results with the 401 when I get the mold and some bullets cast.

I have a 45 cal. 340 grain WLN-GC mold from LBT and love it. Very accurate and hits hard. Also just got a 245 WLN-GC for the 38-40. Great looking bullet but waiting for a custom Lee push thru sizer in order to put it to use.

That sounds like a great bullet in the 38-40. I'm considering getting an extra cylinder for the 401 and having it rechambered to 38-80 to have a convertible.

I like LBT molds, I think you will be very happy with the two you have ordered.

mart, Hopefully your wait is like mine was. Sometime last winter I ordered a 45 320 LFN. I received my mold exactly 2 weeks after I dropped the envelope in the mailbox. Good luck

This will be number 3 and 4 molds from LBT. I have two I bought over 20 years ago from Veral. They still cast great. Had I known then what I know now I'd of ordered four cavity molds way back then. I've replaced almost all my favorite molds with multi-cavity molds. Those two at time molds take forever to pile up many bullets.

Most all of my LBT molds are 2 cavity and I agree with you. However if you run 2-3 molds at a time those two cavities can pile up bullets fairly quickly.

I have 5 of the LBT 4 cavity moulds and wish I had a few more. Hopefully Veral will live long enough for me to acquire a couple more.

The molds showed up while I was on the slope. I got a chance today to cast a few with both molds. I'm looking forward to putting both of them to work. On the left is the 240 grain WLN for the 401 Powermag and on the right a 340 grain WLN .452. I could have sworn I ordered a plain base for the 45 but didn't save a copy of the order form I sent Veral. I guess I can stand a gas checked bullet.
