The last gunsmith I talked to about my .475 Cooper project (six shot on a standard blackhawk cylinder) made a counteroffer for a 5 shot .480 Ruger that I don't think I can turn down. Base gun is a stainless .44 mag Vaquero with a Montado hammer and SBH grip frame w/ Eagle ebonys already installed. My goals for the .475 Cooper were going to be crowding the safety margins of that conversion. I wanted a 325 at 1K fps.
And if any of you guys want a .50 special done on a vaquero throw me a PM and I'll let you know who's doing it. The cylinders for the .480 (staking my claim) and .50 special are in stock looking for homes.
Interesting note - these cylinders are already chambered, but don't have the bolt notches cut. Different way of aligning than the line boring/indexing we are all mostly familiar with.

I think the last time I brought up the .475 Cooper, someone told me Mr. Cooper had passed.

To clarify, Jeff was the writer/instructor and Larry was the gunsmith who came up with .475 Cooper. I believe they are both passed on.
