Almost looks like Shane holding my badger from a few years ago.

In this case that isn't correct, a fur Badger is a fur Badger year round & the same goes for a hair Badger. I don't know the reason for this but I do know that the fur one's are much harder to come by. We will kill 10 more hair Badgers before we get another fur one. I'm sure I've taken over 100 Badgers with a sixgun & maybe 5-6 were fur Badgers.

I stand corrected. I've never heard of a difference in the furs like that. Thanks for correcting me, and now I'm going to see if I can learn more about these fur badgers, and to see if any other animal is like that. Can you describe what you see in the fur that makes this different?

Fur............ Hard to explain Tyrone except the fur Badgers are much finer & softer than a hair badger which is more coarse. Being in the line of work you do you would know right off what I mean if you saw one. I can't find a good close up yet in any of my photo's that shows the difference, I'll keep looking, I've got lots of photo's.

Thanks Dick,, I do understand. To help others,,, if I can get this right,,, the "fur" badger will have a finer,,, yet thicker coat of hair,,, that will feel much softer & would be desirable for a garment, while a "hair" badger,,, like many animals that live in a harsher environment, will have fur that feels much coarser,, making it's desirability less appealing for garments. In the fur trade,,, many furs are sought for their colors, AND how soft they feel to the buyers. An example,,, mink when prime will have a sleek, silky feel that ladies really like.

Mr Thompson..... I just re-read your original post. Five shots in under four inches with a handgun at 1000 yards.... WOW!!!! That is some real shooting 😉

They have a Wy-Shot shoot over in Gillette, Wyoming every year around the first week in June that is very well attended & there's some guys there that really take it to a whole new level. I think it's a 3 day shoot with a lot of Prairie Dog shooting thrown in for good measure. There's also a similar shoot in Sun Dance, Wyoming where they do it a little bit different but it's still all handguns. Make no mistake, these guys are really, really good shooting these Specialty pistols using rifle cartridges & many of them have Prairie Dog kills at 1000 yds. I think Fermin, Axehandle & some of the other guys here on Single Actions Forum with a competition background would do quite well with the right gear.
