I don't think it matters. Not many changes over the years. Slight changes to grips if you have him make them, slightly different fitting of internals and he scallops inside of loading gate on most of the new ones. But overall, from a shooting perspective, I can't tell a difference in the ones I've owned. I have sent back some earlier ones to have stocks made and had the others parts updated and it was cheap to have done while it was there.
