I am looking at this carbine to go with my Blackhawk .357. It is a pre-safety model, 20" round barrel, blued. I am told by my gunsmith friend it has been fired very little. What do these carbines go for new, and what would be a fair price to offer?

If you can, load some round nosed dummy rounds in both .357 and 38 spl. and jack them thru the action. Some of the Rossi's are very finicky about length. I had one that .357 had to have the brass shortened .040 to work at all and another that would not load 38 spl. No rhyme or reason. New in my area is $430-$450 , used , in nice condition does not go down a lot. For some reason .357 is found less often than 44 or 45.

Thanks, Needsmostuff. I saw the Rossi today. I was wrong about the 20" barrel length. It is 16". It is in mint or near mint condition, Puma medallion on left side of receiver. I have noticed these are very hard to find. Seller is selling it for a friend, turned down $500,00 from a gun dealer at a gun show 2 weeks ago.Wood is beautiful, excellent wood-to-metal fit. The price is firm at $600.00. If the action functions smoothly with a mixed load of .357 and .38, I will be tempted. I would like it to go with my BH .357. If a deal can't be struck on a trade,I will stick with my Marlin 30-30 saddle carbine. Anyone's thoughts or opinions here is welcome.
