Anyone using one? Is the tang profile (height) the same as the factory sight? I am kicking around having one fitted to my custom early M29 45 Colt conversion that Mr. Stroh is doing.

Sorry Box, the only one of Hamiltons Ihave on a DA is his fixed version on my model 58. I don't think I've ever seen a picture of his adjustable on a S&W.

I have one I bought a few months ago for my next Horvath N frame project.
The overall height of the rear blade is .399 my Smith sight is .396.
The sight is very well made.
It is for the newer style rear sights that is its a round tang with two screws. Al of my Smiths are older so if I use it the gun will need to be modified to accept the sight probably no more than drilling the two holes?
The sight has a very visible well defined white outline and a large flat surface.
What I am not sure of and did not realize when I bought it is that the windage is adjusted by opposing screws and it is recommended that the screws be lock tighted once set. I am not sure I am going to like this feature BUT once windage is set I normally do not have to change it.
Another option which I have used is Weigands rear blade that replaces the Smith sight and also gives you a very large flat surface, but while it comes in different widths it does not have a white outline.
Any other questions let me know.

Appreciated Len. I have not had any trouble with the two Rough Country Ruger sights I have with loosening and one is on a 500 Linebaugh. As I am in the Middle East hence away from my guns I am trying to understand how well one can be fitted to the older N frames with a bit of welding and machining. I may just have to bite the bullet and buy one and figure out how best to make the installation most "elegant".

When I get a chance this week I will pull a sight off of one of my 1980's N frames and see how the Bowen lines up I am pretty sure its just a matter of drilling two new holes.

I sent one and a Vaquero to Alan Harton and asked him if it would work. I expect good things. The package also included a 629 barrel.

I removed my sight from a 24-3 and installed the Bowen it fits perfectly except for the screws the top strap requires two holes drilled and tapped. The tang is shorter than the original but cover the original screw hole another possible option would be to drill the Bowen strap and use one screw.
Obviously the Ruger frames will need to be milled out but the sight really frames the front sight with a much stronger white outline than the stock sights.

Thanks Len. I am thinking with a bit of Mr. Stroh's welding and a little mill work a very clean OEM-like installation can be had. We shall see.

Thanks Len. I am thinking with a bit of Mr. Stroh's welding and a little mill work a very clean OEM-like installation can be had. We shall see. If he says he can do it, there is no question it will be superb. Jim Stroh is an artist and doesn't get a fraction of the recognition that his work deserves.
