This is starting to look like it might happen! The .44 Automag is coming back! I've seen announcement about it coming back before but this looks a little more solid... I want one! read.automag.com/

If they are produced again and I can afford one I'll be tempted. I'm still hoping that Coonan will produce a .41 magnum eventually also.

Looks like they'll cost as much as a fully custom 1911, not cheap! I tried to get one back in the late 70s but Lee Jurras had already stopped selling them. Even then they cost twice as much as a Colt Python. Probably for the best, I wasn't a very sophisticated handloader back then!

The one I had was wonderfully accurate, on the order of 4" at 100 with irons. In conversation with Mr. Jurras, I was told each one was a separate individual in regard to pressures it liked and worked well at. Using current load data the gun would not cycle, or lock back on an empty magazine. So I went a half grain of W296 over suggested max. for 3 grains over until the gun would function. It was more of a handful to shoot than my current 500max, there is a lot going on besides just recoil, and muzzle blast was tremendous.
Took it hunting a few times and turned it loose to buy something else.

If ands it's a really a couplee of BIG IF'S ,lol, but if they get into production and if the budget will allow I will have to get a .44AMP upper for my .357AMP finally

Definitely will buy one. I liked the ones I had. One of my big regrets is selling them.

Not sure how many they'll sell with the only factory ammo I know of being Doubletap.

Wow! It REALLY looks like the AutoMag is coming back! I'd prefer a .357 AutoMag but a .44 wouldn't be bad either! read.automag.com/november-2017-update-1da94fd7421dRick Maples let me shoot his at a Linebaugh Seminar in OKC (years ago!) It was a handful!
