Are there any negative consequences to shooting gas check bullets at slower speeds. For example a .357 SWC GC at 850 fps or so?

Only economic consequences; a gas check isn't needed at low velocities.

I will throw this out, others will disagree so YMMV. I do not use a bevel base, nor do I shoot a gas check design checkless. At short distances and slow speeds it may be fine, but the majority of my shooting is 25-200 yards.

Thanks for the help. I ask because a friend of mine who owns a small gun shop got in a bunch of 160gr SWC with gas checks with a gun trade the other day and gave them to me. Figured I'd load some up for my SP101.
