Everyone knows that after Remington took over Marlin they kinda sucked. I want a new leavergun but honestly I've been leaning hard towards Winchester. I'm worried about Marlins current quality and since many of you own them and some may have bought the more recent models I wanted to know your thoughts.
I want a NICE rifle in .357 Magnum.
This isn't an argument I want to know all of your opinions and experiences. What you like and what you don't About Marlin. What do I need to look at to make sure I'm getting a good rifle. I'm no amateur to guns but to leavers I am.

Grizzly will still work on the Remington Marlins but ONLY after thorough inspection. They have had problems with the new one to say the least.

I have a .45-70 I got from my wife as an anniversary gift. You can see pictures here: singleactions.proboards.com/thread/18401/anniversery-gift-wifeThe details of fit and finish were a little lacking, but the action is incredibly smooth, and it shoots pretty damn good. I also would say that the trigger is heavy but has a crisp break. And heavy triggers are fixable. I am currently borrowing my dad's 1894C in .357 magnum. It was made in the '90's so it's pre-Remington. if the new ones are anything like it, you'll be happy.

For a .357, put your hands on a Rossi before you write them off. I was very disappointed in my brand new 1895 and had to send it back to remington.

If I was in the market for a .357 levetgun, I'd go with Henry. Just my two cents. I agree that Rossi is also worth checking out.

I second Henry. "Made in America or not made at all." Gotta love em for that.
