It would take a big family reunion to clean all that.

You know, before this lever gun thread started I thought my 45/70 Marlin was the only one I would ever want. Now dang it my wallet is runnin the other way! A few years back I was in a store that had a Savage 99 in 300 and one in 250. I've often regretted not finding a way to get the 250. Now I'm gonna be keeping an eye peeled for levers! Thanks Wasp! Having grown up on Gunsmoke & Bonanza re-runs as a kid, I'd always admired leverguns, but never enough to actually buy one. Then, one day at the range, one of my best friends & enabler extraordinaire let me shoot his .357 Marlin 1894. I've been hooked on hillbilly assault rifles ever since... Couple of years ago, I showed up at a rimfire steels match & shot "Cowboy Division" with my Single Ten & 39A. I'm no kinda pistolero, but I am pretty danged handy with a long gun. On several of the rifle stages, I was turning in quicker strings with my ol' Marlin than a fair number of the AR22 & 10/22 guys. The looks on their faces were priceless.

CABLE... can you tell us why the 3 you pictured 1st as "favorites" are your favorite??? sentimental reasons no doubt... but while I have a fraction of the collection... I have a hard time picking favorites BTW... I'd love to have a 405, & yours is truly a bucket list gun... I did have a 308 Savage but it suffered from sticking cases, & I didn't have any others, so I traded that one off... Looking to see if I have a picture of my 30 WCF Winchester looks like the old Winchester needs some love... this old picture ( from when I was finishing up the racks in my walk in gun safe room ) Winchester 30 WCF is 3rd from the bottom...

I really love that little 38/55.. took it on a hunt north of the arctic circle and shot caribou.....just like it might have done in the gold rush days. it handles really well, points fast, and was able to drop two nice caribou out of a group that were running full out past me....just like in the old days.....so that alone makes that rifle a favorite. hopefully this fall, I will take a moose with a Winchester model 1876 50/95 rifle that I have [ cant find the pictures ] that will be fun too.

Saw a '58 Mountie at the gun show yesterday, that they were asking $650 for. As much as it pained me, I didn't feel like sleeping on the couch for the next couple weeks & had to walk away. Another seller had a beautiful 39, with CCH receiver & octagonal barrel. Asking price was as breathtaking as its looks, tho.
Also saw a Win 94XTR in .375 that was tempting & a couple Marlin 1894s in .357 (that they were asking $900 for). Not nearly as many leverguns as the last time I went a couple years ago, but you couldn't swing a dead cat without hitting an AR assembler (& I've got all of those I need).

44 mag Rossi. Steve's guns rear sight, white bead front sight, and metal follower installed. I've also removed the original finish of the Brazilian wood and then slapped the Birchwood Casey stock finish on there. Shoots straight. Love this thread. I'll have to find something else to contribute.
