I really like the P320. The only other auto pistol that afforded my hands such a positive position for best leverage has been the 1911. Well, there was the HK P7 but that thing got so bloody hot it was very uncomfortable to work with for any length of time.
I sent my P320C slide out for a Trijicon RMR cut. As soon as it gets back I'm going to have a Glock fire sale!

I thought you would have had the slide back by now. But I am anxious to see a range report when you get it up and running.
Now this brings us to my real interest. BTW I should have mentioned earlier that I started with the 9mm version. But now I am wanting to go to a 45 ACP. Has anyone tried one yet? I do need to look around on the net to try and find a report on one.
Be Aware that you cannot interchange the smaller calibers with the 45 platform. I feel that I will probably want to get rid of a Glock myself. I forgot to mention previously that the trigger does not have that spring feel to it like the Glock and the H&Ks that I have used. I also like the loss of the spring loaded safe-action piece inside the trigger on the Glock. Never did like it. I will say again, The concept of this short DAO trigger is "bad to the bone". For those of you that shoot better Double Action than single action, I suggest that you give this gun a try. This is not a complaint,, Well maybe it is,,, But anyway I do wish that there was a brick and mortar store, that I could walk into and compare the different grip frames side by side, and choose the frame that fits me best. Although the medium grip frame that came with this gun suits me to a TEE. But this is running through my head with my thoughts on acquiring a 45 ACP in this gun.

That is a first for me ( seeing that T-Rex Holster) Cool looking but I am not going to wear it in front like the ad showed. That was something that was brought to my attention abruptly. They ship a holster for a right handed person. They do tell you that you can swap the mag release. But for the most part, I do not care because I have been hitting the release with my forefinger anyway, on all semi autos. Creature of habit.
Now I am wondering just how the plastic guns would fare in a real leather holster? Anyone out there been there done that?

Mine is a 357 SIG Compact in FDE, pretty much identical to the earlier pic in the thread of a 9mm. I was on the fence with the 357 caliber until I tried it for myself. You are definitely shooting a substantial caliber! It is also quite controllable, even comfortable to shoot. Advertised factory velocities are a 124 gr at 1450 FPS, but I'm getting mid-1300s with my Compact.
And ammo is cheap in my area.

The 357 SIG has been a good caliber and The Texas Highway Patrol used it for many years. I do not know if they still are. But I like the bottleneck cartridge in a Handgun and sometimes wish we had a few more to choose from. I can see where you would be happy.

Texas, didn't no that. North Dakota Highway Patrol uses it right now, but have recently been running pistol trials looking for a possible replacement.

You might have a typo there, it's hard to tell what you're meaning to say. I personally wish Sig would take the P320 45 ACP size version and introduce it in Super 38!

I have not even got to see a 45 ACP version. Anyone here held, or seen one yet? I am hoping they would be about the same size, but it makes me wonder since the ACP does not interchange with the smaller calibers. I am hoping the only difference for the NON exchange would be the hole diameter in the slide.
Yes +1 on that suggestion Fermin !!!

Sorry 2 Dogs, just saying that NDHP is using the 357 sig mentioned above.
But, on the topic of the P320, which is what this thread is about. I would like a X-Five, 9mm and a 5 gal bucket of ammo for it. The tests I've read on it have been pretty favorable.

I got to handle the X5 which is supposed to be a improvement ergonomically in every way over the P320 grip. To me, and to be fair here I am using the 320 medium frame as my benchmark, the X5 was thicker as well as some longer. I didn't care for it myself. Having said that, we all have hands that might require something other than standard and as long as there have been guns guys have been chopping and channeling them.

The issue is that the 357 SIG will do pretty much anything the Super will, and do it in a compact frame. Still, SIG has made P220s in Super in the past, and it wouldn't be terribly difficult for them to build a P320 in Super.

This is true, but the rub is that the 357 Sig in the smaller platform will not offer the magazine capacity the Super 38 would in the double stacked larger platform. Be kinda nice to be able to pick your poison I think, and like you, I am pretty sure Sig could do it pretty easily and the end product would be well worth it. I also think the longer heavier slide of the 45 size platform would be much easier to shoot/control in Super 38 than the 357 Sig would be 9mm sized slide.

I have not handled any P320 yet, but hope to soon. The longer you mention is ok with me, but the thicker part isn't going to be compatible with my hands. Will need to find a dealer with all the configurations of that model in stock to compare and handel at the same time. Thanks.

I finally stopped in the local shop here and handled 3 different 320's. It would be interesting to shoot one at the range and wring it out, but I just can't pull the trigger. It doesn't seem enough better, overall, for me to switch from my Gen4 G19. I've been shooting Glocks since the Gen1 G17 showed up for less than all the other wonder 9's on the market.
I've got a 43, 26, 19 and 21sf. I guess I just want to stay with the same platform for all of my SD needs, from pocket 9 to full size 45.
One of the 320 models had the red dot sight on it. I try and try with those, but just can't seem to acquire that electronic red dot as fast as I can a nice white dot on a front sight post.
I'm hoping someone local buys a 320 so I can go shoot it! Actually shooting one, might get to to drop the $499 the local shop is asking for the 320; same price as their Gen4 G19.
