I really like the European break open single shot rifles, the Kipplaufs. I've owned a Ruger no1 and got only mediocre accuracy from it and it wasn't consistent, even with the tensioning attachment on the fore end. i think the separate barrel of the break open guns will provide consistent accuracy, and since most of the American break open guns are the cheaper line of guns. My thought was to go with the Thompson Center TCR rifle, I know SSK used to do work on them and provide custom barrels for them, but does anyone have any firsthand experience with the rifle. Are they reliable, well made, accurate or should a put my money into a Euro rifle instead???
thanks, Trapr

I do not, but remember them when they were new. Did get to look at a .22 hornet one time and never forgot it, will find one again and keep it next time, from what I remember they were pretty nice.

I've had several and they're tack drivers as a whole.
I've got one in .270 win now and have has in smaller calibers too.
Only shot the .270 I bought new 12 times for load work.
I've got Blaser K95s that I hunt with almost exclusively.

I think the biggest complaint about them is the stupid dual button safety. You have to push the button to push the safety. Used and NIB barrels are still pretty available on Gunbroker. I won't say the price of the guns has gone down the last few years, but they don't really seem to have gone up like most everything else. I have the one I got from Mr. Jurras several years ago, but it's not exactly an "off the rack" one.

Nice looking rifle, and I like the caliber as well. I've always liked rimmed rounds in single shots, I was thinking 30R Blaser from a 30-06. Trapr
