STEVE... we're looking at puppies for Christmas... a new inside doggie to keep our little girl company ( we had to put our little guy down last year & little girl who is now 9 years old started getting separation anxiety when we leave ) seems half the dogs we're seeing on line are down your way... looking for a Bichon or Bichon cross... if I end up heading down that way for a dog... I'll see how close we actually get

Drop at least 5 from the max capacity, if you are going to leave the magazine loaded for an extended period of time. Springs do compress and you will have problems with the last rounds jamming.

If you've a long term commitment to the platform, it might be wise to just nab a few extra mag springs and load as you want.

I know its not a high cap mag but a WWII vet pulled his 45 auto from storage which had 4 rounds in the mag for over 30 years. Fired the gun without a hitch....just a thought.......

I've heard the same on many old loaded military mags... newer guns should have better metallurgy... but that might be like saying new washing machines & TV's should last longer than their earlier counterparts... which has not been my experience...
my 15 round 10mm mags are for a full sized Witness... they are really tight to get the 15th in the magazine & the Keltek... well it does not exude a quality feel... I don't think I'd bet my life on 4-5 30 round PMR magazines loaded to max capacity that have been sitting in a drawer for 7 or 10 years??? I'd sure feel better about them, if they had 20-25 rounds & everything wasn't "cranked" so tightly

Spent a few nights in Albert Lea. A great stop on the way to Sturgis.
In Viet Nam we only loaded 18 in a 20 rd magazine to prevent feeding problems, spring wear issues and the like. Whether or not it was really necessary, I do not know. And, we changed out magazines for brand new ones whenever we could-same with ammo.
We developed and embraced superstitions at the drop of a hat. A guy was killed one day by a mortar round while he was eating canned apricots. No one ate apricots after that.
So when someone tells you to only load 18 rds, you do it.

What does the manufacturer say? I leave pistol mags loaded for LONG periods of time. Rifle? I load them as needed.
