While looking at and for some single shot pistols I've run across a couple of these. I remember when they came out and always thought they were neat with the rotary breech block but I know they didn't stick around long.
Before I try to decide how seriously I want to pursue one in .223, how available are parts? Are they unobtainium?

Just sent in a Lone Eagle for repair. They replaced the "internal parts". Didn't give a breakdown of parts replaced, but it goes bang.

That's good to hear because my friend Mr Google was all over the map on parts and service availability but most of the info I was seeing was between 5 and 10 years old.

Mine was returned about 6 months ago and they serviced it.

In case you didn't already know, they are not supposed to be dry fired, ever.
I have a 357 max and a 444. I think they're awesome fun

I have just not fry fired them, period. I don't see where it would be a problem with snap caps.
Haven't shot anything but Max in the Max, because I loaded 500 rds up. The recoil is nothing in the Lone Eagle with a 1" bull barrel.

OK, thanks!
I don't think Hunter Pistols allows the Max so that's why I was wondering. It's not a deal breaker, just a curiosity thing.

Also Google "Competitor Pistol". He quit making them last year but I believe he was the original designer that MR ended up using. Later after the Lone Eagle was stopped production he started making them again himself. The difference was that the Competitor pistol used the rotation to also cock the gun which did away with the leaver. He was making them in any caliber you wanted from .22 up including rimless cartridges like 9mm &.45 for example. They are still all over the place for sale but since he quit making them last year you have to hunt the caliber you want.
My history may not be perfect but it's close from what I gather.

I've seen a couple of those listed but not in a caliber I want (yet). IIRC he passed away earlier this year unfortunately.

Wow I didn't know that.
I wanted a 9mm to share ammo or .357/.38 to suppress.

Wow, I hate to hear that. Even though it is pretty obvious, MRI always claimed no connection with the competitior pistol. Competitor did have a huge caliber list, all the way up to 458 Win Mag, if I remember right. I never liked the competitor stocks, or the first MRI ones. Mine are bothe second design with the schnabbel for end tip.
I had a 358 Win also, but sold it. It was a tack driver.
