Hello,
I've just recently bought a Freedom Arms in 500 Wyoming Express. I went ahead and ordered the dies even though I figured my 500 JRH dies would work. Just wondering if anyone has any loads they've used and liked. I don't have the pistol in hand yet but hope to this weekend. Thanks in advance for any help.

FA used to have a bunch of loads listed on the site. Bob did extensive testing on that round when they brought it out. There may be some even in some of the old Hodgdon magazines, can't remember. I'd have to go back and look, I haven't loaded for it in years but plan to do some more soon.

Does head spacing on that belt cause problems unless the cylinder is surgically clean?
Those guns are tight to begin with.....

Never had issues when I shot it years ago. Ken O'Neill probably has more experience over the years than anyone I know. I bet he can tell ya

Never a problem with the belted case, even after many loadings. I do keep all my guns pretty clean, though.

I do keep all my guns pretty clean, though. Understatement of 2016! I about gave Ken a heart attack one day when I was about to tweak my FA in front of him and the screwdriver wasn't a perfect fit.....he kindly offered (read insisted) that I use the one he was swinging at me

Bulasteve,
Thanks for the welcome. I'm born and raised in oklahoma, not sure exactly where turkey pen road is? 😀
FA says they've ran heavy loads through brass 10 times without much measurable change.
I'm definitely excited to get this. I had one in college and sold it to make ends meet. Now getting a replacement.

A point of interest Freedom Arms no longer lists Hodgdon Lil'Gun loads for the 500 Wyoming Express. Hodgdon's website for the FA 500 WE cartridge remains unchanged for Lil'Gun. Further FA footnotes that pressure data by Hodgdon Labs.

Matts, there is a Matt's Bullets on that road, in Arkansas. He is a commercial caster that does some 50cal offerings...so..was wondering.

They (FA) found Lil' Gun to erode throats quickly, very quickly.
