I'm still on backorder from Lipsey's(through a local dealer) for a SBH .480. It's been 16 months. I think it's amusing at this point. When I hear the two words "back order", I back out. I've been screwed-over many times by those two words.

Gotcha beat... Bout 5 years ago, ordered in a little mannlicher rifle. Waited patiently for the call, shoulda been about ten days, two weeks thereabouts.. Two and half weeks into it, could no longer take the suspense. Dropped on by the shop. Asked about the rifle I was waiting on. Dude tells me about the beautiful rifle they got in JUST LIKE THE ONE YOU'RE WAITING ON. They took it out of the box, guy says I,'ll take it. Great. Where's my gun. That I ordered. That it sounds like ya sold.. Lemme check he says. Well ain't that a bitch, we sold it. Then he keeps babbling about the beautiful wood it had. Classic high douchebaggery, even if unintentional...

QDM I Hope you get her SOON and it's a real Beauty! I hate you now though! You have me thinking that I need one of these. I've been thinking I need a Bisley 480 (still do) but I'm lookin at the BFR 500JRH now too! I've never really even thought about any of the .500/.512 guns.... Until now Hmmmm??? Keep us posted on the delivery and how she shoots once it arrives. BigBore44 BB44...Once you shoot a .500/.512 with various loads (mild to wild) it will be hard to feel that you are properly dressed an "Have enough Gun" to carry anything else....fwiw

IT'S HERE! The LGS called, I just need to go get it. Question: New thread for photos, or just use this thread?

I had to wait only around 18 months from John Linebaugh.

So after my .480 Bisley/SRH debacle, I put an order in for a .475 Linebaugh BFR at the LGS. I just passed the 9-week mark, and still no revolver. I even bought brass, bullets, and some new powders. I have 100 rounds of loaded .475 just waiting for the gun! Tom Petty was right. The waiting is the hardest part. 😞 Hope deferred makes the heart sick, But when the desire comes, it is a tree of life.

After its first trip to the range I noticed the cylinder stop gets stuck when I open. The loading gate. I called MRI and they were very gracious and overnighted it back for repair. It got there last Thursday, so I am waiting again. But, with the accuracy it exhibited, it'll be worth the wait!
