So after my .480 Bisley/SRH debacle, I put an order in for a .475 Linebaugh BFR at the LGS. I just passed the 9-week mark, and still no revolver. I even bought brass, bullets, and some new powders. I have 100 rounds of loaded .475 just waiting for the gun! Tom Petty was right. The waiting is the hardest part. 😞

I sent off a Bisley for 500 conversion a long time ago...I know the struggle!

I grabbed a PC BFR 475 a while back. Fluted cylinder, white micarta grips, and other options. I like it better than the FA83.

So today I called Magnum Research to ask about a front sight for my.500 JRH, and asked, "Hey,ive been waiting for my BFR in .475 Linebaugh for 10 weeks now, is there a back-order?" He says he'll check and puts me on hold. He comes back and states he has five, that's right, FIVE of the barrel length I've ordered sitting on the frickin' shelf, in-stock!!!
WHAT THE F**K HAS THE F**KIN' DISTRIBUTOR BEEN DOING FOR THE LAST TEN F**KIN' WEEKS THEN!!! I called my LGS and explained that I was pretty pissed-off (not at them, their distributor) and that Magnum Research said we can order from them. The guy I placed the order with was out today so the other owner there told me he'd get with him first thing in the morning. I am seriously pissed. If it is in-stock at the manufacturer, there is no excuse for this long wait!

You guys just need more projects! On another project, I've been waiting 6-weeks for my RIA 1911 to be fixed by the local gunsmith. He said two to three. I called him last week and he hasn't even started. Not mad if he's busy, but then tell me it's a 6-week turnaround!

So how long on average does Magnum Research take to build a gun. I ordered a 500JRH a couple of weeks ago and they told me 8 week and then charged me up front. You have me wondering how long I should wait till I become a squeaky wheel.

So how long on average does Magnum Research take to build a gun. I ordered a 500JRH a couple of weeks ago and they told me 8 week and then charged me up front. You have me wondering how long I should wait till I become a squeaky wheel. From experience, my .500 JRH came in between 6 to 8 weeks. Hence why this had me scratching my head. That one was put together. That was what I expected, and like you, I was told 8-12 weeks. So when we got to 10 weeks, I was calling today to ask about the sight on my .500 and asked if there was a back order. When he looked, there were 5 in-stock, indicating that my LGS's distributor didn't have to wait for one to be built and it could be shipped to my LGS right frickin' now! So how long they have been on the shelf, that I don't know. But a 10 week wait is certainly out of the question if they have 5 sitting on the shelf, unclaimed! I have this sneaking suspicion that the lazy distributor NEVER PUT THE ORDER THROUGH TO MAGNUM RESEARCH IN THE FIRST PLACE! Like I said, the LGS is not to blame. BUt it's time to go over the distributor's head and get one direct.

So, My LGS calls me this morning. He called his distributor, and due to a "mix-up," my BFR was never ordered! I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR TEN WEEKS AND THEY NEVER PUT THE ORDER IN!!! Not the store's fault and he called me to verify the specs as he already called Magnum Research directly to get the order going. My LGS is reliable, but their lazy-ass distributor can f--k off. Happy to screw them out of the sale.

The distributor will probably get his cut, they have an agreement with MR. MR probably ships through distributors for all their FFL products. It's a very specific skills set, esp with ITAR and Obama's ATF.

I'm still on backorder from Lipsey's(through a local dealer) for a SBH .480. It's been 16 months. I think it's amusing at this point.
