Had a bit of a learning curve when I went to change the grips on the Cobra I loaned my sister and she doesn't seem to be in a hurry to return. The gun was my grandmothers when she passed it went to my father when he passed it came to me. Shortly after I got the gun my sister was going through an ugly divorce in Alaska and wanted a night stand gun so I sent her the Cobra. She has since moved down here to Florida but hasn't lost the feel of wanting a gun. As a side note she has a beautiful S&W 29 and one of the little Hi-Standard 22 mag derringers but likes the little 38. In the brief time I had the gun I sanded one of the grip panels to make clearance for a speed loaded, a move I regretted about 2 seconds into doing it. I have wanted to replace the grips ever since and the other day picked some up to do just that. I haven't seen the gun in years and forgot that the shape the grip frame on the 2nd gen guns is smaller than the 1st gen guns. The grips I bought were for a "Colt Cobra" no talk of generations. Well one size does fit all and will they make the gun a little harder to conceal as a night stand gun they'll be fine. The look pretty good and have a feel like S&W K frame round butt. I suspect these were factory 2nds but for $28.00 I'm happy.

Looks like a dandy solution to a difficult problem. I have purchased a couple of pair of Colt grips online, to find they did not fit the DS I was using.Colt use requires a lot of research. Your Cobra is a great SD piece. A treasure!
