My daughter in laws dad has a small sporting goods store/gas station in Elba and he sees lots of big bucks come through his store. I would love to find a nice whitetail buck some day.

FIL shot a big 14 point many many years ago... his story was he caught it literally crawling along the ground... guess big old bucks don't get that way by being stupid, or hanging around areas they are likely to get spotted... me... I'd like to think I'm unlucky, rather than lacking skills been skunked many many times, & biggest I've shot is a medium sized 4 point... last year I went ( a couple years ago ) I had a little spike buck that hung around my stand for almost a full day... no matter how many times I glassed him over, I couldn't make those spikes grow enough to shoot him...

That guy that posted just above me, an honest man right there ! I've got some 8-9 pt bucks, that were 200lbs after gutting. Points not that important to me, mass and width are it. I've yet to break 20" for spread, my goal. Oh, spikes are good eating and likely, can be argued, good to take outta the gene pool.

Thats a nice buck for sure. A buck was killed recently in our county that is 47 points and has a non official green score of 308 3/8. It will definitely be a new Tennessee state record but will also challenge the world record after the 60 day drying period.

TULLY... got any pics??? love seeing those big ones... if this one were mine, I'd see if the local Cabelas would mount it for me in trade for doing a cast of the antlers for one to put in their store... local Cabelas is only 50 miles or so from where this one was shot
