You guys played with these things much? We have one as a range gun that only sees factory ammo. Jumping crimp has become a common thing. Gun runs two or three rounds before a bullet sticking out the front of the cylinder locks it up. Ammo from all the big ammo manufacturers, domestic and foreign... bullets jump crimp. Asked our store front guys to contact Ruger and ask if there was a recommended cartridge for the thing. Sent a personal note to Ruger Customer service. Haven't heard anything yet. Yup we could reload with a roll crimp and get around the issue but we allow only factory ammo in our range guns.

That SUCK's!!! Doesn't sound like a SD piece I would want to rely on to save my hide! No experience with Any of the LCR's but, I want one in 327 and would like to see Ruger bring out the 3" LCRX in 327 FM and 22 & 22 Mag...
Axe If you hear anymore from Ruger, please keep us posted...

This seems to be a common problem with light guns and taper crimp ammo.
I've been considering an LCRx in 38 Special so I could crimp the bullets.
I also decided on a Single Six in 38 Super over 9mm. I doubt it'd be a problem, but can roll crimp if I want.
I know you can with clips too, but not my idea of fun.

Have put about 100 rounds through mine and zero issues. All the ammo so far has been the Winchester 115 bulk ammo from Walmart.
Next time I shoot it I'll fire four and pull the clip to see if the 5th one has moved...
A Lee Carbide Crimp Die may help when reloading. I have four .38 Super DA revolvers and have had zero problems with any of them pulling bullets..

I'll bet it's a kicker! My wife has a 3 inch LCRx in .38 Spl, and it's a handful. I load pipsqueak loads for her to practice with, then she has a couple boxes of Hornady Lite defense ammo with a 90 grain bullet for carry.
No problems with the .38 jumping crimp (knock on wood)

Got a reply from Ruger. They say they shoot 115-125 including +p and +P+ with no problem. Looks like the corporate answer to me. Based on real range experience and dozens of customers shooting the gun over the years I might think that something was wrong with our Range gun. Maybe we'll send it back to Ruger.
