A little over a year ago, my son asked me if he could have my ULA in 22lr. Like any good dad would do, I smiled and told him absolutely..not. I told him we would get him his own because that one was mine I called Mr Melvin the next day. Being the salesman that he is and my prior ownership of various models he has made, I hung up the phone with three rifles ordered instead of one. Time passed and he called me a couple weeks ago to let me know the first two of the three had shipped. They were an identical set of M20s chambered in 260Rem. Stainless barrels etc. They turned out great. With my favorite little 2.5-8 Leupolds, they weigh in at 5lbs 10ounces scoped and handle and shoulder as fine as I expected. If you've never handled or shot a NULA, you really need to do it. He builds all of them in house and he has stockbuilding down to an art! The way they shoulder and handle recoil is amazing to say the least. 2015 was Melvins 30th anniversary in business making these rifles. All of the guns ordered in 2015 have the owners initials in serial number and have his signature on the receiver. What I found interesting when I received the gun was the signature. They didn't match. I honestly figured that when they arrived it would be a little stamp of his signature. What I found out and subsequently asked him for verification was that he hand signed each of the anniversary receivers. Then backfilled the signature in gold. Very cool touch with his actual handwritten signature. The sling is from Barranti, the Peabody sling. Very light and works great on these rifles. We also changed the colors on the 22lr and it hopefully will arrive in a couple weeks from now.

Beautiful rifle! Would also be interested in type of loads you will use. Years ago I had a sporterized Swedish Mauser carbine. Killed whitetail as if it were Thor's Hammer! Always wished for more velocity with that 6.5 bullet. Eventually traded it and now use a 7mm/08 which is a perfect cartridge for me. But as with many weapons the 260/6.5 mid size cartridges draw me!

Great looking rifle, Glen! I think the gold inlaid signature is a nice touch and, the tan/as/matte color scheme is nice to IMO. Just Neat & Clean with great lines... That little 2.5-8 Leupy is the cats meow on such a rifle, light, compact and plenty of magnification. I have one of the "Production" Forbes Rifles in 308 Win. I mounted a VX3 1.75-6x HD Leupold's I had in the safe. Its a perfect setup IMO. Mine weighs in at 5.4lb iirc...? It shoots lights out and, surely doesn't wear me out toting it in the woods Let me/us know how it shoots when you get her out to dance, OH,,, and don't forget the Yeti heheheee Ray
