I have been happy with the Hornady factory loads and brass in my Ruger. Nosler makes ammo and probably brass too. Norma of course will have brass that is well liked, but pricey. Too pricey in my view. Their is probably other makers as well, but Hornady is usually available and affordable.

Any preference on brass? Thanks, Craig RWS or Hornady. DO NOT use Norma.

Friend has double rifles in both calibers and a 450NE No2. In three trips to Africa has taken four elephants the last one at 15 yards with a Chapuis in 9.3....
A double rifle is one of the last things on my want list...in .405 Winchester...

None with RWS or Hornady using the exact same loads in the same rifle with ammo loaded using the same reloading dies. This is all with my (ex now) Chapuis 9,3x74R. I have never tried Norma brass in other calibers.

Sorry you missed out on it. When I want something bad, I just buy it, then sell off to pay for it later. I hate missing out on good deals and guns.

I have a 9.3x74r in a fine single shot. It is a great cartridge for Oklahoma whitetails or if a Cape buffalo walks in the yard. It's a low pressure round and the "plunk" it makes when you drop it in the chamber is very cool. It's easy on the ears and and offers a big shove not a violent high pressure kick. I have always wanted a LH Chapuis double for no good reason other than I want one.
