A few months back, I asked for help in trying to figure out why my S&W 646 DA revolver in 40 cal was mis-firing. I got a lot of great help here, and finally figured out my problems, and got the gun to running as it should. I shoot USPSA,,, and the Area 6 match was very ugly due to the constant "click, click, bang, click, bang, click, bang, bang" etc stuff. I've shot a few local matches since I got it fixed,,, but this past weekend, I attended & worked the NC Sectional match. The gun ran flawlessly. I wish we'd had a few more revolver shooters,,, but it is what it is. But I thought I'd share a picture that was taken of me "in action" at the match, with that same S&W. Thanks again to all who helped!

First in the barefoot division ! I love happy endings. Actually, am surprised your allowed to compete minus "safe footware". Guess you don't have to worry about hot brass in shoe ! I've seen some pretty good dance moves by people with hot brass in shoes, down shirts, etc.. Congrats on getting that gun to play nice.

I bought the gun new, and when I finally got around to using it,,, it was ok to begin with. I didn't fire it a lot,,, but as it "loosened up" the problem was mis-fires, that progressively got worse. Well, the first thing I found was the tension adjusting screw would back out as the action was worked. I could dry fire it & watch the screw rotate. Well, a piece of fishing line in the hole allowed enough "locking" to stop the backing out screw. But, mis-fires continued. I added an extended firing pin,, and that helped,,, but not totally. Next, I added a spent primer cup to the end of the adjusting screw to give me a bit more tension on the mainspring & viola, problem of misfires ceased! Once I feel I can take the time & all, I'm going to replace the mainspring & see if a different one will cure the ills w/o the primer cup.

I wear the Vibram finger shoes at matches and greatly appreciate the added feel on slippery ranges. But you take the cake going barefoot!
