I just saw one on GunBroker.com for a starting bid of $1250 and a buy now price of $1500. I have 2 consecutive serial number Sheriffs that are in the box and have never been fired (outside the factory). I wonder what mine might be worth. The last couple I have seen that sold was just over $1000. Would the consecutive serial numbers be worth a Premium? just wondering what you guys think. I'm going to watch this one and see what it sells for. Ron

I"ve got very early consecutive serial Ruger Montados in 45 Colt... to me, they are worth a premium, if it's something the owner uses in a 2 gun rig ( like I do mine, for CASS ) if the owner only uses a one gun rig, IMO, it would be hard to justify the premium
BTW... are those Sevelles in 45 Colt???

Yup-45 Colt. The first on was on display in a gun shop in North Las Vegas, Nevada and I bought it. About a month or so they had it"s Brother on display and consecutive serial number to the one I had, so I bought it too. The boxes they came in were big enough to put them both in. No instruction manuals came with the Sheriff models. They were made in Tucson. I have a 4&5/8" Blue Sevelle 45 Colt that was made in Hauppgauge that I bought a little while before I got the Sheriff Models. It also has never been fired since it left the factory and is in the box. Paper work came with these. Its a beautiful gun. I had Rugers to shoot, so I kept these for good. Ron

That guy on GB has had that sheriffs model and all the other Seville's & El Dorado's for sale on there except one for months! He just keeps re-listing them with no price change that's why there still there along with the guy that has the other one 9.5" barrel he wants $2k opening bid, no one has bid at all in 6 months. There is a guy here by me that has a 3.5" 45colt sheriff's model LNIB Tucson, AZ gun, his dad bought it new and basically never shot it. He is asking $650.00 hasn't sold in over a month. I may offer him $500 for it if he doesn't sell it, he has OM BH's in boxes I rather see which one's he has of those first.

That's how I bought my Montados... bought the 1st one... put it on layaway... the day I was picking it up, I noticed he had 2 more in the case... & one was the number just after the one I'd purchased... grabbed that one as well, but had to also put it on layaway... when I went to pick it up, it was the wrong number... apparently there was 2 of them in the layaway closet, & he didn't know the only reason I bought it was that it was consecutive numbers with my 1st, & he accidentally gave mine to the other guy... owner explained the situation to that guy & offered him a box of ammo & I got my 2nd gun back

Mine were the early Montados that had the grooved ( non SASS legal ) grip frames... my local club let me use them for everything but regional & state championships... I later changed out the grip frames to a brass Lightning grip frame ( SASS legal ), & later a set of custom fitted Walnut from LSCG... but have kept my original grooved frames for collect-ability

I think the $1500.00 price is out of line, but I have seen 2 that sold within the last few months for a little over $1000.00 plus shipping. They had both been shot and had no boxes. What I was wondering is what would be the premium for consecutive serial numbers. I don't have to sell them now, but before I check out of this old world , I will sell everything except the guns that I will give to my Grand Sons. Everybody have a great day and thanks for the come back. Ron
