I'd taken for granted just how big an XDs is, or maybe how small a 1911 Officers model is. No sense in suffering through a horrible XDs trigger when you can have something so similar with a decent trigger!

Actually it will drop into the fitted Kydex holster of the XDs, and rattle around, so it's marginally smaller.

They are both capable of holding 7+1. Not sure what the weight difference is, but it's not much. You could skip dessert for a week and more than make up for it I bet.

That XDS grip treatment hurts my dainty little hand. While I've thoroughly embraced the Glock 36 as my preferred plastic fantastic concealed carry gun, a good well done custom 1911 OM warms my heart too. FWIW make my 1911 all steel. I'll deal with the weight.

Good guns all but a 1911 just warms my heart. It's my main carry gun.

Maybe... but to me the XDs 'carries small", a lot smaller.

As hot as it is here in MS, I'm going to stick with the 43 or XDs for a bit. It hurts my heart to sweat on a 1911, even if it is a pieced together Duracoated RIA

^ Ive rusted that stainless Officers ACP carrying it only a few hours IWB in the summer. That gun was a close friend for a number of years, but it sits in the safe now, ugly run of the mill guns took it's job. If they rust, or if I drop them or what have you, so what.

No sir. Just some cheap eBay kydex. They are branded Index Point Holsters. Here is a link to one. You can look at the sellers other auctions to see if he has one to fit your particular pistol. m.ebay.com/itm/Smith-Wesson-M-P-9c-40c-Kydex-Conceal-Carry-Holster-/252372045430?nav=SEARCHAs much as I appreciate nice leather, these are really superior for carrying in the heat. Once you sweat on/through the leather, it's gonna stay wet, hold salts, etc and be rough on your pistol. When I sweat on these, which is daily this time of the year, I simply wash it in the sink with soap and water and lay it aside to dry. Good as new and ready for the next day.

Groo here The problem with most all those striker fired guns is they are square. The 1911,smith 39/59 type , Browning HP ,even the CZ 75's are rounded. Making them feel smaller/smother and print less. My S&W sw1911 pro compact LW is just so small, smooth and light that I would carry it all the time..... BUT, I can buy 3 M&P's , XD's or Glock's for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love my 1911's (and CZ's for that matter) but I find the plastic guns "rounder", less sharp and poky, less jabbing me in places like the others.

FoR whatever reason, carrying my SW 1911sc e series in a milt sparks criterion is more comfortable and better concealed vs. carrying my glock 26 in a milt sparks vm2.
