Seems like a reasonable question, but I'm not finding. See some in bevel base but not plain/flat base. I am interested in them for .44 & .45 Colt loadings. Anybody know if they are commercially available?

Thanks eskimo, I looked at them before but look as if they are bevel base. I am only interested in flat base.

It's really almost "too easy" to powder coat your own at home. If you already cast, an extra tumbler, a $15 toaster oven, and a pound of powder will have you in business.

I think that Leadhead bullets has the Hy-Tek. Don't remember if base is beveled or not.

I think that Leadhead bullets has the Hy-Tek. Don't remember if base is beveled or not. Just checked and don't see any ref. to coated bullets. Their .45-255 appears to be bevel base but the Scovill 270 gr. looks like it is flat base. Thanks for the lead though Cherokee.

I have looked hi and low for the same bullet in Hi-Tek. No one has it. All of the commercial coaters I have come across are using Magna molds and if I recall, they didn't have a keith PB mold in 45. I have used SNS and Bayou for my purchases. Had an issue with a batch from SNS so I gave Bayou a shot and have been happy ever since. If you do find a coated Keith, please let me know.

Thanks for your input Squatch and I'll keep you posted if I find any. Maybe we need to prod a few vendors and ask them to add some plain base Keith's to their offerings. Also, good to hear more positives about Bayou Bullets, as I intend to get some of their .45 acps to try.

Thanks 9x23R for posting this link. Even though it is not a true Keith design, I may try them. What is the nominal weight for these? I am sure they will be over 260 gr. For a gp & paper punching bullet I would like to stay under 300 grains. Derek

I use another bullet very similar to the one just shown from Missouri bullet company. It is a .452 Keith style 255 gr with the hi-tek coating. Shooting some light loaded .454 Casull with Tite Group powder and have not had any leading. They have a slight bevel on the base if I remember correctly. You can see a pic of them on Missouri bullet company web page. Seventeen cents a piece delivered and 18 Brinell hardness.
