Was reading some old post about the venerable old 32-20. A few folks mentioned having had built or eventually building a 32-20 on a medium flattop frame. Any limitations with that in a sixshot as far as "hot" loads?

Any limitations with that in a sixshot as far as "hot" loads? Brass integrity and common sense as with all reloading. It would be an excellent gun easily digesting loads that would equal the 30 Carbine and crowd the 357 Magnum.

I run a 135 grain GCHP out of my Harton mid frame flattop 32-20 at over 1500 fps. There's no room for any more H110 in the case.

You can't hurt it filled with 110 (296)...now I'm betting a full case of Bullseye may do it but that case will fail before that cylinder.
I had a Buckeye Special that shot flat as hell with a 100grainer and a case full of 296.
That's a lot of cylinder wall even in a smaller framed FT

My findings mirror Fermins. I am using a different design bullet but still in the 135-140 range. The Buckeye is what I have. If you do a custom I would go with the longest cylinder you can get in that frame window. I have used lil gun which a lot of folks shy away from. I was using it a fair bit before I showed up here, I don't see any damage to my gun. Jeff

Only problems I've heard of was with full 65,000 psi 454 Casull loads.

I had a USFA bisley in .32-20 doped out by one of their Head Honchos at the factory. I asked the same, how hot ... when the primer backs out and locks up the cylinder. Said couldn't hurt it. However, that said, common sense should prevail. Just love the gun btw!

In playing with my Buckeye I have ruined a bunch of primer pockets but the cases always pop right out.
