Congrats. Very nice looking critter. How about I come up and beat the brush for you and split all the shrooms 50-50? :-) I still want to shoot a bear. They won't let me in the zoo anymore as I was eyeballing them pretty hard the last time I was there lol. FYI our mushrooms here were few and far between this year. I quit looking before the end of April.

I took a hike up through some of that country yesterday and found where one had been feeding on cow parsnips.

We bumped in to this old boar in a big rock jumble,at 40' and I took it with the Guide gun and a 300 gr Nosler Partition. This was a warm day in late Oct. and the bear was skin and bones though it's hard to tell from the picture. It had a lot of teeth missing or worn to the gums. You can see my friend is gripping the cheek bone, like a handle.A neat, old bear.

This cinnamon was also taken with the Mountain Gun and a 240 gr Remington Core-Lokt,I think,SP.
I had just bought the Accusport Bisley,a few days before and sighted it in with buffalo Bore's 325 gr hardcast load. The 4th evening of sitting, watching this grassy draw, this bear was already out feeding, when I got there, but was 100 yds away.I had the Guide gun and was tempted to take it but decided to roll the dice and see if it would feed down the draw toward the spot I wanted for my shot.It did and the shot was good. The sun had come out for the first time in days and that dark brown hair was so beautiful against a bright green background. The shot was 45 yds, downhill, resting between the knees.

Some write about handgun hunts...THIS is hunting with a handgun. Nothing but respect for you Shortbarrel. Doing it right.
Give me this type of story all day...I've had enough gun rag bloviation on the topic.
