Felt like sharing mine, no their not so & so's customs but I like em anyway: My Dad's 36 chief SPL with original Lawrence holster, M19-3, M28, and M53 22 Rem Jet(Old fire breather). It's an early "3T's" model so they call it, diamond checkered target grips, wide cch target hammer and wide serrated cch target trigger.

Thank you, The jet is fun no matter if loaded light or hot usually always a ball of flame. I have a lot of brand new brass for it so it will be good to go for along time, if I don't sell it for something else unique or cool as well.

Very Nice group of Smith's you have... They are just such a classy looking piece of steel. My collection of Smith's is small, (Hopefully make it larger in time) especially compared to some folks, but I like the couple I do have Mine consists of a 17-2, 29-2, and an original #3 44 Russian (my Grandpa's) ... Thanks for sharing. BigBore44

The 38 snubby was my Dad's he bought in new from State St. GS back in NY when he was 37 I believe with that in the pants Lawrence holster, he carried like that an so do I for many years. This year the gun turns 50yrs old. I first shot it when I was 9 and got extremely good at short range quick shooting and long range ridiculous shots with a snubby. Now when each of my kids turns 9 I take them out show to them and tell the story then grab 5 original yellow box 158 gr. 38 specials copper lubaloy coated and let them shoot it. Boys are done in 1 1/2 it's my daughters turn.

Nice collection...
Found a Jet back in about 1974 with the extra rimfire cylinder. It was my only .22 revolver for over 15 years. Ran so many Jet rounds through it the forcing cone looked like a funnel. Was lucky enough to find a correct period barrel that looked like it had never been fired.

Bob Bob, Did the 22LR cylinder come just thaw or the whole yoke/ejector assembly from S&W? I wondered about buying a I believe it's model 17 22LR cylinder for it instead of trying to find the inserts that GPC seller that are no good per their reviews. Thanks Jim

One of my big brothers just bought a S&W 22 Jet. Looking forward to shooting that one!! Gotta find some brass and dies first! Dies aren't the problem there is a new 2 die RCBS set on sale now at Midway $53.00 plus they have other as well, couple guys on ebay want $73. plus shipping for he same set. Brass is the problem, I have a few boxes of new Remington brass from Midway a few years back, Midway only has these on back order only "Prvi Partizan Reloading Brass 22 Remington Jet Bag of 100 for $29.99". This company supposedly has factory new Jet ammo as well but it's a JOKE 500+ FPS with 45gr bullet they are off their rocker!! Hornady 40gr Jet bullets loaded "lite" are over 1400fps. Even Starline doesn't make brass. On GB a guy has a 50rd box of original Rem brass new for $51.00 BIN price. There ya go.

The Model 53 cylinder is the same length as the .357 Magnum Model 19 cylinder...the 17s and 18s are based on the early .38 Special length cylinders...so they will not interchange. The cylinder on a S&W is a separate part from the crane/yoke and only one per gun is needed.
53 rimfire cylinders come up for sale once in a while on GunBroker or eBay but the last one I saw sell a few months ago brought over $800.
Send me a PM about brass...I have more than I will ever shoot in this lifetime...

First rate collection. I owned a S&W Model 28 years ago. I think at one time S&W marketed the model as the "Highway Patrolman". The one I owned had a dull or flat blue finish and didn't have some of the checkering or blue finish that it's more refined cousin the Model 27 had but it was still a great revolver. Mine had the same style of Pachmayr grips as yours. Wish I had hung on to it.

Thank you, the 27 & 28 parts are interchangeable, the 28's are the highway patrolman model mine has the blue and matte blue front and bottom of frame an top strap like many the sides and cylinder are blued. I have the original target grips somewhere but their big for my hands and not concealable when I used to carry it. I actually have 2 different pac grips the one's that are on it are shorter and a little wider front front strap to rear, the other set is actually more comfortable they are slighty longer, rounder and I can grip them better, I was just trying that pair out again and I have a set of walnut Hogue finger grooved as well that look nice but are lond, I would like to get a pair of Roper style herrett grips but can't swing the $125.00 at this time.

I think you have a very nice collection of S&W Revolvers. I'd be proud to say they were mine.
