Of course not. We live in an age of reverse discrimination.

A photo freezes a moment out of time, out of context. Without knowing what was being said before and after, I'm not that annoyed right now. They do need to remember that when in uniform they'll be judged as cadets. At least they weren't flashing gang signs, sigh.

If those cadets had been white, they would have been immediately suspended while awaiting an official investigation. Because they are other than white, no harm, no foul, regardless of their original intent. Double standards do indeed apply in the Department of Defense.

You don't agree that when they are in uniform they'll be judges as cadets ? I only said that I wasn't annoyed. I didn't say anything about punishment either way.

It is my understanding this sign is used by all cadets during different events at the academy.

If this is true,,, then my impressions are wrong, and I've fallen for the media crap. HOWEVER,,, history shows us that some black people, on a large scale, use the fist raised like that as a sign of "black power." It is also being currently used as a "black lives matter" sign. I based my comments upon what I've seen historically, and the captured image.

If I hadn't seen films of white male cadets using the same sign at events I would have fallen for the media hype also.

Female African American Cadets with raised fists at West Point? Seems these young women have a grasp of our history. A raised fist signifies more than defiance. As well, a raised fist signifies triumph. David Bradshaw

It's stuff like this that makes me crazy. Yet, I flush all this crap away just as fast as I hear it and go on with my day. Being a believer puts this in a much different light. Thank you Lord!!
