I drew a bull tag for Muzzleloader and my gal drew a cow tag for the 1st rifle hunt.
All within an easy early morning drive from the house.
WOOOOOHOOOO!

Thanks all!
Those OA guns aren't muzzleloaders
BP yes.
I was excited until I remembered how much weight I need to lose to get my fat a** up to the top of the mountain alive....

Is it traditional muzzle loader only or can you use optics, power pellets and in-line ingintion? In Oregon if you want to use the Jim Shockey style modern muzzle loader you get to hunt during the regular firearm season. Muzzle loader season is traditional style only.

We can use inline guns with scopes.
I shoot an older blue encore with a 2.5-8 Leupold scope stuffed full of Blackhorn 209 and a 300gn Barnes original in a sabot.
It will shoot a slug at about 2100fps into a tennis ball sized area at 200 yds all day long.
It's basically a .45-70 that takes time to load.
Not a traditional muzzleloader for sure but it keeps a lot of folks here away from the draw and the bulls will still be bugling.
The big bulls have usually come off their harems by then but that makes the satellite bulls are even more eager to come to a call looking for a
stray hot cow.
