Where can I get hardware for grips? I need the ferrules and screws. Trying my hand at some grip making. Should I just go to the hardware store and get the best I can find or is there purpose made stuff readily available?

Brownells & Midway both carry them. Midway #259-467 at $2.99 per set.

Ruger sells them. Last price list I saw had ferrules & screws @ $.50 each. List is several years old though.

Ruger sells them. Last price list I saw had ferrules & screws @ $.50 each. List is several years old though. Their ferrules are now $2.50 each. $5.00 per set. Quite a blow when you buy 100 sets at a time. Then there is the price for black anodizing.

Sorry guys, I got my prices a little mixed up. The ferrules are $2.00 per piece. It's the medallions that are $2.50 per piece.

Dang !!! I expected they would have gone up some but, that is kind of a surprise. It doesn't really surprise me. They may have had to switch to a new vendor. I you have any machine shops in your area, visit them and see what they would charge you to make something like that. Could be that the bean counters are not letting them keep as much in inventory now. That would mean ordering a smaller amount from the vendor which would also drive up the price. With the economy the way it is today, slimming down on inventory is a given for a lot of companies. I don't really blame Ruger. They still make one heck of a gun for the price.
