I have memories as a kid riding around Montana in the backseat of the 68 Buick Wildcat while the folks played country music on the 8-Track. As a kid/teen I preferred other music but did/do like some of the country. Merle was one of them.

Thanks for posting this. Good memories for me too riding around Utah with my dad. Like Perry, country wasn't my choice of music back then, but I did like Waylon, Merle, and Willie - still do.
It has been a rough spell with many greats/icons passing on...makes me contemplate mortality...
