...now Groo can smile.... Have gotten to shoot it twice....it is not fun with the small stock grips... Put a set of square butt Uncle Mikes on and it was fine. Hope Pachmayer comes out with a Compact like they have for the round butt S&W N-frame... Bob Nice lookin iron, Bob.... Hope you enjoy it buddy. Ray

Well,,, I Talk a good game, but when it comes to shooting THAT one I pretty much back it down. The only published data I've ever seen is Reeder's and it's chuck full of 296. I keep a box of that around for any one who wants to feel what its like to throw lightning bolts like the finger of god. Pretty much when I shoot it I use mid to lower level 44 mag specs. While not wanting to quench anyone's lust for the short 41 I fear many may find the same reloading quandary I have. To reap the high potential requires slow powders which are not at their best in a short barrels. Mostly to avoid the un-burnt flash loads I end up with smaller amounts of faster powders rattling around in that big ole case. All in all That gun would have been more useful with a 4" ( or more )barrel.

Tyler T will give you a lot more control without having to swap out grips I think it is a #7!

needmo...that round was made to run in a TC Contender. In a revolver it is really a waste.
I'm using 29.5 grains of H110/296 with 170 Sierra. In a 5.5" barrel it is doing in the mid-1500s... I can get just about that with 26.0 grains of H110 in a .41 Magnum case from the same gun. In a 6.5" Blackhawk the 26.0 load is in the 1600s. One will get the extra 100 fps out of a 10" Contender but not a revolver.
My gun is a 5 shot and have already talked to Gary about having the .41 GNR cylinder rechambered for .410 GNR based on the .454 case...that will run heavy bullets and make it worth it...

I like the .41 Mag, & I like the Redhawk, but how much performance do we loose with that short bbl? It would be easy to pack.
