Ive heard that the early early SRH .480s were 5 shot and are rare/hard to find. But damn, $25,000? WOW! I think the seller has something but I feel its a stretch.

FWIW the first 480 Alaskans were 6 shots. There was a very short run of 5 shot 480s before they went away. Actual numbers and value is beyond my knowledge base.

Serial number not exactly what I want.. this one is 04516...I'm wanting 4567, the day I joined the Navy 4-5-'67. Oh well...

I think 23 or so 5-shots left the factory. $25K? I guess they're worth what someone is willing to pay. I suspect he won't be able to sell at this price.

Hey, it never hurts to ask! But if you ask dumb questions, expect dumb answers!

Wow. Ha. So, you're saying that I can get 1 five-shot 480 or 27 six-shot 480s?
GB is entertaining on multiple levels.
I agree with Max that the seller may have some difficulty selling at this price.

I paid $675.00 IIRC for my 6 shot 480 Alaskan & I'm comfortable with the loads the 6 shot can handle... enough so, that I don't think the 5 shot interests me even at the smoking deal of $25,000.00
