With the late unpleasantness and the difficulty of finding primers, I am running out of CCI large pistol and large pistol magnum primers and now have to switch to Winchester "everything" large pistol primers.
I'm gonna back my loads down and work back up - is there anything I should know? They will be going under anything from a 240 gn 44 special with a "Skeeter" load of Unique to a 300 grain 454 with a case full of 296.
I know that for the 500 max, when I mentioned this problem to JH, he told me to save my CCI mag primers for this round cause they and 1680 were the perfect ticket for this round.

I've used Win for heavy 454 without any problem.

I use nothing but Winchester primers mostly for simplicity and have never had a problem with ignition.
There is no question that some primers are much hotter than others and if you are working at near maximum loads you need to back off and work back up.
I saw this 1st hand with 223 loads where a primer change started blowing primers!

I don't know what the pressure difference would be between the WLP's and the 350's but I'm fairly confident John Linebaugh recommends using Winchester large pistol primers in the 500 max with IMR4227 and 1680 powders. John advised 35 grains of 4227 with the WLP's will give you around 1,050fps with a 420 grain bullet from a 6" barrel. Increasing to 42 grains will give you all you want and then some at 1,400fps with pressure in the 33K range.

Aggie01 - Going from CCI-350's to WLP ought to give you roughly the same velocity with less pressure. Give John Linebaugh a call or send a letter to him and he will confirm this with his pressure barrel data.
