I heard the same excuses about employees, scales broke, postage machine broke, post office lost package.
The humor went south pretty quick for me.
You're right about good bullets, but just don't care to deal with the b.s. stories.

Since National Bullet went away, have ordered similar amounts from Penn, Matts and Cast Performance with similar treatment and results. Some of the folks above on my short list of who I respect, so..am paying attention.

Placed an order for these bullets in the middle of November. Received them a couple weeks after they were promised, but could live with that. After inspection of my order, I found it short by a considerable amount. I called and was informed there was a scale malfunction. Understandable, it happens. Was promised the remaining bullets would be shipped within a couple days. No problem... After two weeks of waiting, I called back and got the same promise... a couple days. Same at four weeks, six weeks and eight weeks. I finally called with an admitted attitude and was assured they had been shipped. Two days later I got an email from the USPS stating a label had been created, but no package was mailed. It remained the same for eight days. Yesterday I emailed Penn Bullets with an ultimatum of filing with the BBB. This morning I got an email with a tracking number. So I suppose my bullets are enroute. I can say nothing but good about the bullets. But it truly irks me to deal with these issues from anyone in our industry. I ordered from Penn Bullets once......................with a special emphasis on the"once". Won't bother doing it again. Not quite the same, but had similar problems. In fact, they were responsible for me setting up my own casting table. Their loss...........but then I'm not quite sure they much care.

well I lucked out with penns bullets as I a live in n.y, and figured I would give them business since they were right next door in p.a. so I called 5 times to place a order and never connected with a human, I guess my luck was with me that day. so I have moved on to rim rock and have nothing but good things to say about them, reading the complainants makes me thankful that I never placed that order...

When I got my .480R a few months ago I called around to the known names and Penn was one of them. Quite honestly I don't think I have ever talked to anyone in a specialty product business that "seemed" as confused about what he was selling as he did...Needless to say I did not place an order and won't bother to call again. I did place my order with LeadHeads and received the bullets in about 5 days. I don't have a lot of range time with them yet but so far so good.
I buy my .41 & .44 bullets from Matt's. Great bullets, great service and a good guy to dela with.

I have always had great products and service from Matt's and Western Bullet Company. I have bought more bullets from Matt's than any other mail order company.

I had a fiasco involving a fairly large sized order, and it took almost a year (IIRC they were moving?), and having my honesty called into question. The bullets were fine, but I was so pissed by the end of the experience that I could never recommend them, let alone ordering a second time.

Reading all the posts, I have to say it looks like a pattern of extremely poor customer service. Guess I'm glad it wasn't just me. But, really disappoints me from anyone in our industry.
Will be ordering more from Matt's this week.

I dealt with Penn a couple of years ago. I found the gentleman at Penn Bullets to be pleasant and helpful. And, he did as promised -- except the quality of the bullets was predictably mediocre to poor in every batch received -- cold laps, unfilled edges, porosity, etc. Each time the reason was "new people" (in my experience, aka, poor leadership). I gave up on them, boiled off the lube and threw the bullets in my Promelt. I was hoping things had improved. It does not look like it has. Too bad.
