Anyone else here enjoying them ? Read the first 4-5 some yrs back. Am pleasantly surprised to see the author has been busy ! Back in the day, started out to be a game warden. Was in college toward that goal, but working too. Then caught cold that went to flu, that went to mono.. Dropped outta school, Dad cancelled loan on vehicle he co-signed for, lost 30lbs, just managed to stay outta the hospital. Then when recovered fell into G.E. job and never looked back. Had friend that was our county warden then, he had advised me that if I liked to hunt/fish/trap. that might not be a good job for me anyway. I'd spend most of my time chasing people huntin/trappin/fishin.. He was right. he moved to fisheries work on Lake Erie and got his boat shot up several times by Canadian comm fisherman that come over the line. With their boat and livelyhood on the line, well a fiberglass boat wont stop an '06.. From there he went to D.U. work. Hope the rest of his life went well. Our next county warden was shot at many times. His dog was killed, skinned and the hide draped over the mailbox for his kids to find when they went to get on the school bus in the am.. Our game wardens tred a dangerous path to protect our game animals and all of our wildlife, and natl. resources too. GOD Bless'em..

I have enjoyed all of CJ Box's books but I look forward to the Joe Pickett novels the most. You might also like the Longmire series by Craig Johnson.

The Longmire books are a whole lot better than the show (which I like a lot). Vick in particular is a whole lot more colorful a character in the books.

Never heard of Box, but went to Amazon and ordered his first book to try, they sound interesting.
