Looks like your bullet casting future is bright, those are nice looking bullets, just remember to buy or make a flat top punch for seating, they work for several different calibers. I use them on both my RCBS & my Star machine. As far as furnaces go I have 2 Lee pots, a Lyman, an RCBS & a Magma Caster. The Magma's are the Raspberries for running a lot of bullets in a hurry, even with 2 cavity moulds. They have a 30 lb. pot & you can crank out a pile of bullets in a hurry & drink ice tea with your free hand while you're casting. When I was shooting USPSA competition I kept this machine warm quite often!

I didn't read every comment about your post, based on my own experience, the overhead shots with all the colors tell me it's too hot.

Loaded a few more tonight. I think these look better. I threw back 20-30 probably before saving the first one this time. And i fluxed like 3 times. I need a better place to cast. Somewhere a little more open. I have strong fans but still not crazy about where i'm at. However i reload inside. Lol Those look good, Joe. Watch for driving bands that are not filled out. They're easily spotted by looking for frost where you would normally see a nice, sharp edge. In the center of your picture there's a bullet that's point roughly at 7:00 or 8:00. Its bands have frost around the edges and it should be culled. Keep up the good work! CHT

Flux and stir, Flux and stir. I have a large (16") cafeteria spoon I use to stir and remove the crud from the top. I stir and skim until there's no metal in what comes off...just dust. I use beeswax and *gasp!* the horrible Marvalux... I know, it rusts everybody's pot but mine and causes warts on your tongue. But after 25+ years of using it in the same pot my aluminum pot hasn't rusted, nor have my molds and I don't have a ring of volcanic glass in my pot. I use a pea sized lump and break it into powder and then stir. Works fine, and used sparingly, lasts a long time. YMMV
