I'm not sure if you know it but, the Super Redhawk is the same as the GP100. I think maybe the Redhawk is to but I don't own one so I'm not certain, it's just a guess.

The 5 1/2" and 7 1/2" Redhawks do indeed change that easily, as do the full-underlugged S&W Classic 629's that have been made since 1990.

...can't complain about the Freedom Arms....back out the set screw, pull out the blade, put in what you want and tighten the set screw. Wish the Ruger SAs had the same system.
The newer 4.2" Redhawks have the same system now as the longer barrel ones have had...

Magnumwheelman.... INSERT SIGHTS interchange between Redhawk, Super Redhawk, and the Super Blackhawk Hunter and Bisley Hunter. Thus, the one-of-a-kind Ruger 03, which has a Super Redhawk front sight base, utilizes all such inserts. Reckon the GP-100, must share the same front sights, as it would have rankled Bill Ruger to make dies and tooling, and to complicate the pipeline, for a different part----unless absolutely necessary. David Bradshaw Hi David What exactly do you mean by the "One of a kind Ruger 03" ?? Is 03 the year it was made OR? Thank you. I like to learn as much as possible whenever I can, and this sight is great for that.... BigBore44

you have to be careful with the Alaskans, as those sights are different than the "other" Super Redhawks... ( learned this the hard way )... curious if those Alaskan sights are the same as any other Ruger, or are unique to the stubbi barrels???

Magnumwheelman.... yes, following a tradition dating to the black powder era and spanning important developments of the early 20th century, the Ruger 03 is named for the year it officially enters society. The Ruger is featured in numerous DB threads posted by Lee Martin in the Gallery section of Singleactions.com, and appears in th Max Prasac book on Ruger Revolvers.
Secured by spring-loaded plunger, the Redhawk sight perforce requires a thick base. Against that, the arrangement is sturdy and country simple, while offering instant interchangeably, qualities valued by this marksman. David Bradshaw
