I am contemplating selling 2-4 of the handguns I own. I have bought guns through GB, but have never sold a gun online. I first attempt to sell via a State gun owners forum. But, a couple of my handguns may need a broader audience to sell, or at least sell at a price I like. I do have a LGS owner who is happy to process the paperwork and handle shipping for about $35.
Any tips and/or advice? Thank you.

Good photos and FULL disclosure of condition etc. make all the difference between a sale and a migraine. Suggest usps money orders only.

Thanks.
Do you try the various forums-S&W, Ruger, etc. before going to GB?

This^^^^
Really good photos. Photos are everything.
Spell the model correctly. I've snagged a few steals because the guy misspelled Wenchester and Rueger

I've sold a couple online. As others have said, full disclosure, lots of pics and of course FFL to FFL transfer.

If you opt to list on a gun auction site as opposed to offering it on something more local for a fixed price, I think the question should center around how do you sell it for the best price. There's risk and reward and stuff like reserves that give you downside protection but limit attractiveness. Using auction tools based on what you're selling can help. Meaning, if you have a high-interest gun you may benefit from a low start price and promoting it amongst your friends. Reviewing "completed" listings of similar items is key to know the most someone will pay for your gun. It's nice when you can just have a group of friends that you can solicit offers from. May not recoup your $ or allow you to profit, but it is easier.

I'd avoid the gun trader groups on Facebook, unless you are prepared to constantly be offered bows, crossbows, johnboats, speakers and amps, and the like..... Or even worse, Taurus revolvers. Of course I say this jesting, but nevertheless it's true.

Thanks.
Looks like I might have sold 2 long guns on a State gun owners forum. Meeting the buyer tomorrow.
As an aside, I have generally had good luck using Ebay to sell custom made knives. I have 5 for sale on it now.
