Finally scored a Marlin 25-20 Classic NIB. Have wanted one for years.
Absolutely my favorite all time rifle cartridge and far more useful than the paper ballistics would lead one to believe.
Got the 32-20 version years ago. The octagon barrel SASS run that consisted of 501 guns.
Really enjoy experimenting with these old retro style rounds.

Back in them old days my grandfather hunted deer with his old octagon barrel Winchester 92 in 25-20. First time I held it I thought, why is this thing so heavy for such a small cartridge. Someone else in the family got the rifle but I still have a few of the old cartridges, some with a hp and others with the soft point. I always watch for a Marlin, but they are scarce and mucho dinero. I hope we get to see pictures of yours!

Congrats, I have the 32-20 and 218 Bee version. Just waiting for the 25-20 to come along, even have the dies for it. As stated pics are always needed.

Encore64 Congrats to you on the Classic 25-20. I also have one of the Classics in 25-20. I'm still trying to work up a load that it really likes. If you stumble onto one that seems great please share your results. Heck I'd be interested in hearing any of the loads you experiment with...
Thanks and enjoy it. BigBore44

I have been trying to get one of these I could afford for years.
Kept an extremely large amount of data and research that guys who owned them came up with.
One set of data printed out 10 pages on hard copy, just for this gun.
As always, glad to share anything like that with fellow forum members.
This morning I decided on the correct scope for this rifle. It will wear a Weaver k-6x in keeping it a bit on the era correct styling.

Mine is wearing a Leupold 2-7 at the moment. It sometimes wears a Skinner Black/Gold peep sight. I like the scope best for load work and when I want to be more "surgical" I actually like optics best on about everything But, a levergun just looks and feels right with peep or tang sights IMO.
