Kentucky is gun friendly, Knob Creek machinegun shoot twice a year. Had a pro-gun rally on the steps of the State House, a lot if people packing AR's and open carry galore, State Police had 2 guys there standing around looking bored. We do have open carry, no permit and concealed carry-permit. I've never had a problem here in the Free Commonwealth. Kentucky did pass a law forbidding the federal government from passing gun ban legislation here, with prosecutory powers to arrest federal agents who tried to enforce same. ;-)

How's the hunting and fishing? How's the prices? Land, small cabin/home to rent/buy farrr away from town and others with enough ground to shoot/hunt?.? Yeah I can move outta here QUICK!!! BigBore44

Land is cheaper here than where I lived in East Tenn. When I first moved to Ky in '95 we bought a 19 acre farm with the "old farmhouse " everyone wants for $50K. Had a barn and 40x60 tool shed. House was 2 story, 1915 and in excellent condition. We lucked out. If you are interested check South Central, Greensburg, and basically west of I-75. Many, not all, places east are caught up in the meth-pill epedemic..but then a lot of places are.

In WA state, if a person is inside my house in the middle of the night uninvited, its legal to shoot, as it should be. Not outside stealing my car mind you, but inside the home. How do I know he isn't there to kill my family? He should be shot on sight and here it is legal. Precisely, you would be in fear of your or your loved ones life. THAT is what the Castle, and Stand Your Ground laws are for. But, smokewagon posted.... "now its legal if you shoot someone in your house stealing things that you worked your but off to have." I doubt that's the case. Most Castle Doctrine law basically protects one from a Civil Suit after killing in self defense and then not being charged with a crime resulting from the killing/shooting. Stand Your Ground law gives one the right to use deadly force in defense of life where ever one has the legal right to be. WITHOUT some "requirement" by law to try and flee before you fight. Neither of these laws say....."it's legal to kill someone stealing my stuff".

The only thing I would add to that is that a homeowner does not have to prove anything if he shoots an intruder INSIDE his home, regardless what the stupid perp intended. You cannot shoot someone going out the window carrying your Ipad, but if they are inside the home, you can, even if the Ipad is all the moron wanted. The homeowner cannot possibly know why the perp is in his home and can therefore shoot the dumbass just for being there. A cop told my brother once when he was having trouble with an ex boyfriend of his first wife, (well rid of her!), that if they guy kept showing up, just make sure he was inside the home before he shot him.

If someone is in you house and you feel your life is threatened you can shoot through your 52" big screen he is stealing. The major change from our right to self defense in our constitution is you do not have to retreat from the threat any longer, and if the D.A. calls it a justifiable self defense shooting no civil suits can be filed. I would never shoot someone over property, its all insured, maybe.

Merry christmas guys!!! I would like you to celebrate your American constitution (with me) even if its not the 4th of july. I am not an American citizen .... but I SO envy you the rights and privileges you have because of that. Those of us who are NOT protected by a strong constitution feel it everyday. Even the ones (like me) who live in "western civilized countries". We feel the law laid out by people we dont know or had the opportunity to vote for ( I live within the EU) The American Constitution is the strongest document ever written - and, because it still exists physically - in my opinion the most valuable treasure in the world. ....and its NOT only about the 2nd amendment. Its everything about it!!! Greetings, Carsten PS - I admit I had a few before writing this. Cheers...

That's OK, we wont hold that against you! You probably understand our Constitution better than most college students in this country today! They actually had a guy asking students to sign a petition to rescind the 1st Amendment and a lot of them seemed to think that was a good idea! Its all this crap now about offensive language. These ignorant morons in college get all offended when someone says something not politically correct, like the truth! So when they hear something that is counter to what all the libtard professors are vomiting to them everyday they get all upset and want the speech and thought police to come and arrest the people with different points of view. So much for our institutions of higher learning! I really do fear the country is lost, seriously. No matter who we elect into office, its just continues to get worse and worse every day. Lets face the truth. If Hillary gets elected, its over. It will be proof positive that the country has lost its collective mind and will only hasten the end of America, as those of us over 50 once knew it to be. Mark my words.

The irony these days is that so many people seem to think the First Amendment exists to protect their very narrow point of view and right to express it, but not the other guys. I don't believe the country is lost, or that the Constitution is at risk of additional amendment any time soon, no matter who is elected next as president. And I'm ok with my state's gun laws, and don't really care if any other state offers reciprocity.

1. The reason why it is the most important document ever written and its still here,is because we will fight whoever wants to take it away. 2. If it were not for the Bill of Rights and the second amendment the rest wouldn't exist. 3. The first amenment gives us the right to say what is on our minds, there is no amendment for political correctness. 4, Say what you mean do what you say. 5. We are slowly being programmed to agree with other ideas and ideals, before you accept them think what our fore fathers would say. 6. If it stinks it's rotten, don't recycle it bury it deep.

Despite it's pro-gun history, Vermont now has some raging anti-gun legislators. You can have the place.

The first amenment gives us the right to say what is on our minds... It also protects us from state sanctioned religion. Many of our forefathers believed the world was flat, burned people at the stake when those people challenged their belief system... One person's "programming" is another person's education. Our Nation's progress has been and always will be dependent on those who are capable of critical thinking, those who are open to new and diverse ideas. Those who have rigidly held to antiquated beliefs have always been left behind.
