Thanks Mike, hunting rabbits is one of my all time favorite things to do, especially when there's snow on the ground. Today I got a late start but still seen a lot of cottontails. My weapon of choice for rabbits is almost always my Ruger single six 32 maggie, its the Michael Jordan of rabbit punchers! My one & only load in this gun is 3 grs of WST & a 100 gr. (my alloy) SWC powder coated slug & its deadly yet forgiving when it comes time to skin the bunnies. Today because of the late start I got 4 but only recovered 3, one started jumping around like Callshot when its his turn to buy lunch & it finally fell down in a big crack in the Lava reef. Because of the slick snow I wasn't able to recover it. Besides, it was very, very cold. Actually I wasn't cold but my body sure was. I'll go again wednesday & I'm sure it will be possible to take a dozen if I want that many. As always my well used single six was safely snuggled in my Barranti master piece & the stocks are a pair of Holly's I made that I took off of my OM 41 maggie a few years back & they will stay on the 32 rabbit rapper!

lscg, I made those stocks out of Holly about 12 years ago & for a long time they were on an OM 41 magnum shorty. I took a lot of game with that sixgun including some Javelina & feral hogs in Texas. I had a hog laser engraved on the right panel at a place in Bandera, Texas. I like to use Holly that has some minor flaws in it & the laser engraving matched the flaws perfectly. That 41 shorty now belongs to forum member Contender, not sure if he's taken any game with it but I sure did.

nice... most of my bunnys fall to either my scoped 17 Mach 2 rifle, or my .410 Condender... can't say I've ever hit one with a revolver... so... nice shooting... in my defense, my outside doggie turns most of them around my place into very fast moving targets

Nice shooting, but how did you get a safari without me. I'll be in Soda on Wednesday, but way too busy for any shooting. Steve

I was walking out of the woods after an unsuccessful deer hunt a few years back and it was standing in the trail, so I decided to try my luck. luck was with me and I took home a little meat. My 357 had a 38 loaded with wadcutter as it's first shot. rabbit jumped straight up and ran about 10 yards towards me and decided it was tired of running. Our dogs like to chase em, but like to catch em even more, so we don't see as many as we used to anymore.

Good to see you out and about! Been raining here seems like forever. Only managed two days of deer hunting so far and the rabbits are wearing 'snorkles'.

I had never even thought of laser engraving grips. it's got me thinking now.
