I took off work a little early yesterday, and hustled out our place for a little dove hunting. Wind was up a little and might have been blowing a storm in, they really weren't flying at all. I pulled the trigger three times in three or four hours. The fruits of my labors: I baked him with some chicken drumsticks I picked up for $0.99 a lb... I'm heading out for a weekend in Winters, Texas for the annual Winters Dove Festival. Hope the hunting is a little better out there.

I'm pretty certain that I could probably even DOUBLE the result that you had by taking a shot at the occasional stray flying over around here! ;D
I'm still waiting for the corn to be cut for silage before I organize a big weekend in the fields. It'll take a dozen or more shooters to keep them stirred up.
By the way, you haven't been hauling much gravel in the bed of that truck, have you?

I think the glare off that shiney new truck may have driven them away....

Thank you, Robb.
I'm back from my dove hunting trip with a dozen friends. My truck bed aint so pristine anymore. I got to take the clay thowers to the practice fields.
