Since the 475L is the parent case, the 480 a tad shorter being the only difference, can you use 475L dies, resizer, seater, shell holder, bullets etc for your reloading needs ala 44Mag/44Spec?
Thanks

Mine work fine with both case lengths. I can't speak for all brands of dies, but I would expect so.

The only possible issue is the crimp die.. So long as it works you are good to go. I think my Hornady die set is marked 475/480. Even if it isn't marked that way it works for both.

And... Possible shell holder issues. Remember that the original 475 was based on the 45-70 case with a large diameter rim. By the time Buffalo Bore and Hornady were spitting out stuff the rim had been down sized for the FA application

Ah, yes, shellholders. I ordered Lee dies. Was recommended to order another one too. I did. The additionally ordered one works better with the Hornady brass I have here.

I have the 4-die set from Hornady and it's marked for both 475L/480R

I have a Lee set that I bought for my 480 and a RCBS set that's marked 475/480 that came with my 475 BFR. Both interchange just fine. I only have Lee shell holders and the same one works for both of mine.
