Well guys - booked my trip a while ago and talked to my wife about it a couple of days ago - and we WILL go!!! I dont want to start a rant or anything - I know how all of you fell about these things - so please dont post any hate. But I just had to get this off my chest. I will go to the places that were hit, and I will sit down - (unarmed and defenseless) - and have a glass of champagne with my wife of 25 years. And we will not allow anyone or anyting to spoil our happiness. Who knows how this would have turned out if more people in Europe had the liberties of USA in terms of concealed carry. Better or worse - dont know. But being slaughtered like a lamb somehow strikes me as the worst possible end... Sorry for bringing down the mood......

I think when France is done with ISIS, nobody will consider France a safe target.

Hope you have a major and safe trip. If I went, coffee, cathedrals, and the Louvre would be on my list. Say hello to Mona for me... ;-)

You should be fine, have fun. I plan to go to France some day as well, love to see Normandy and all the D Day beaches etc. Sadly I watched a video the other day that depicts a Europe that is being literally overrun with foreigners from the middle east and doing no good at all. And we are now on course to do the same thing here by bringing in perhaps 100's of thousands of so called refugees. It don't bode well for the future. Enjoy it while you can.

Europe has problems. We are nowhere as close knit as the 50 states. The rights of the people are NOT carved in stone. Just recently the European Commission decided to put forward a law for all member states to prohibit all semiautomatic weapons, and to prohibit ALL interntet based gun trade. All based on the recent events in Paris - to prevent terrorists from repeating the event. So the answer to terrorists will be to disarm the general public - and disallow honest law-abiding citizens to hunt, shoot or trade their firearms. There has been no suggestions to stop religious extremists from hateful speach or actions... after all THATS FREE SPEECH...!?!
I used to not understand fully what the 2. amendment was about... but its beginning to dawn on my just how important it is - and how down on my luck I am not to live in a country with the same strong constituion as the United States. Whatever you have - hold on to it, because you will never, ever get it back once its gone.

The financiers from Eric Kaiser, foie gras from the Petit Prince, and moules and frites for 6/7 euro at almost any bar... My wife and I visited for an anniversary and enjoyed every minute of it. We stayed next to the Sorbonne. Though it was our first time to Paris, I'd say the way the arredonsments(sp.) are designed, it's very easy to take public transportation to get around. Stay positive and make the most of it

I've never been a fan of cities, ours, theirs, anyones. Cities are made by men. Enjoy the French country cooking. One of our favorite outta the way places has 2 chefs, one trained in French country cooking, not foofy cooking. Yum ! Boullabaise is now a favorite of mine. They still make good use of duck n goose, where turkey has ruled over here for the last 50 and more yrs.. Luck.
