Anymore than 10 minutes is just wasting power. I think most here have it down pretty good. Ronnie, your bullets look very nice & powder by the pound is a better quality paint than Harbor Freight, although red still works very well from them if you like all red bullets. The first powder coated bullets I ever saw were green, that was in 2013, I was very surprised how well they worked, still am in fact!

I may try a small batch today. If things go well will have them loaded and ready to try Sat.. If all goes well, yup, gonna have to find some of that John Deere green ! While you can say I spend 2/3 of my upright time with Crocs on one end of me, you could also say I spend 2/3 of my upright time with a John Deere green hat on my other end.

The first batch of bullets PC'd here are Penn's 335gr. Came sized .475 and lubed. I boiled of the bulk of the lube off then wiped with mineral spirits. Had adhesion issues with the powder. Am guessing I should have rinsed with water to remove solvent residue.. But bullets back in oven now with second coat. Look much better. Hope to send some downrange by Sun/Mon.. Gonna be the purtiest bullets in 'Bula ! Next, to test cast some of the zombie lead, from ex-ray room, then order 400gr Lee mold. Then..it never ends does it ?

Use acetone to rinse. It completely evaporates with no residue. And has been said before humidity can play a part with the required static buildup.

Acetone, thanks. Have some of that too, just less nice to handle. Humidty not likely an issue here in the snow belt, though snow-less at the moment. Forced air heat means dry interior.

If you must do it then acetone for sure, just wear some rubber gloves. They clean up real good & you're ready to coat.

Is there a reason why the airsoft BB's need to be black ? Didn't use any the first time, maybe reason why needed second coat, rather than solvent residue. Hmmnnn..
